Happy Wednesday

Good morning,
Just popping in before I continue on with my many things for the day.
I hope you have a great Wednesday.

I have played along with the Special Edition Palette at The Color Room this week which is:
 And I created this:
I am really going to miss this girl when she starts school next year.  Who is going to keep me company and chat to me all day?

And another I did on the weekend of my boys.  They have decided they want to grow their hair but unfortunately, it grows a little scruffy.  You know that inbetween stage??  I just want to get in there when they are asleep and cut it off but alas, I will respect their wishes.
I had a ball getting dirty and grungy with this and the boys just loved it when I finished it.  I think they thought they were pretty cool in this pic.
And thanks to the Eb for her 'negatives' ideas with the stars/circles and Leonie for letting us use her machine at retreat.

See you soon.

Mmmm, what can I share with you today?

The boys are watching the football, the girl is tucked up in bed.  I am in my Happy Scrappy Room ready to create.

I'm still a little behind in sharing so I will fill you in on a couple I did at retreat last month.

This page was a challenge set by Crystal which was an image of "graffiti" with colours of pink, blue, black and greens (if I recall).
I had already created this background using serviettes mod podged onto paper so it was perfect to add to for this challenge.
And then we had a blind scrap challenge by Peta.  It is so hard to know what papers and embellies to pick for a blind scrap although that is the fun of these challenges I guess.
I wasn't totally happy with something about this page....I cannot put my finger on it but just something.  It has created a memory so that's good.

Well I'll be off to create now.

Enjoy your weekend.

The Color Room - #111

Happy Thursday.
So far today I have, been for a 5km run, got the kids off to kinder and school, walked the dog, finished my work, finished a page, blog hopped and now sharing a page with you.  And it is only 11.10am.  Imagine what I can get done for the rest of the day....lol.

This week's palette as TCR is:
And I created:
My computer shows the fourth colour as a greysih tone but I think some have used brown...anyways, this is it.
I just love this photo of DS and I.  He had had a meltdown so I sat with him until I could make him smile again. I'm glad DH caught it on camera.

And a photo update for you too while I am here.

Our sweet neighbour made these for us and when we went to eat our yummy cupcakes, we found out they were balls of icing.  Far too sweet (and I am sure not one bit good for you) so we couldn't eat them.
I had to go with DS creating his project for school about Pluto.
The river near my house where I go for my runs.  Views like this make it that little bit easier.
My runners are my best friend.  They come with me to the gym, for a run and to walk the dog.  I think I give them a fair workout.
With my gorgeous gal.  I love this funky shot.
She doesn't look happy because she had just taken a tumble down the stairs and we were snuggling on the couch to make her feel better. Thank goodness she didn't break anything....lol.
A common site at our house. The kids use the laptop for homework and for fun.  And nothing like having an audience watching you....lol.
A new day breaking.  I took this photo this morning on my run.  The colours were amazing.

And just in case you didn't know, Apple Tree Land Designs are now making kits again.
So if you are looking for something like this
Then head over and place your order.

Thanks for getting through all of that.

See you next time.

Happy Monday to You

I hope you having a wonderful day.  The start of a new week always makes me feel refreshed and ready to go....

So I am here just to share a couple of pages, just because.
I have enjoyed creating lately, trying new things, being inspired by many and just loving the "freedom" of no criteria.

This page I created a while ago now.  I saw this stamp online somewhere (sometimes I cannot keep up with where I have been and what I have seen).  So I increased it's size, printed it on a piece of A4 paper, traced around it with baking paper (like you did back in school) and then traced it onto my page.  I then used a pen to outline it and paint and mist to colour it in.  I really wanted to add some splats or mist or something but was a bit scared the whole thing would be ruined.

I think it worked.....not quite a traditional page with paper etc but just a bit of fun.

And this page I created through the week after running my 10km.  I mainly wanted to concentrate on the journaling side of it so kept it pretty simple.
I used some tissue paper from Typo for my background with gesso painted over it and used the awesome Crafters Workshop template for my "splats".

So there you have it. I will be back soon with some more "just because" pages to share.
Until then, take care.

Once Upon A Sketch May Challenge

 Theme: Mum
We would like you to create a layout and interpret the theme "Mum" however you like based on the following sketch. You can journal as little or as much as you like, but your layout must incorporate this theme and the sketch.

Ideas for journalling: you as a mother, your role as a working/stay-at-home mum, sacrifices/benefits of being a mum, one day in your life as a mum, how your life has changed since being a mum, a tribute to your own mum, grandmother, guardian or someone you consider as close as your mum, your relationship with your mum or your daughter, one trait you have take from your mum, your desire to be a mum, your feelings on motherhood, what does it mean to be a mum?, what kind of mum do you want to be? , Mother's Day celebrations/traditions, your favourite Mother's Day gift given/receive etc..
And this was what I came up with:

I love this photo of the kiddies and we just had it put onto a canvas for my Mum for Mother's Day.  It was a bit hard to hand it over to her as it would look rather nice on my wall too....lol.

So head over to OUAS and see what the other gorgeous girls have created.  You won't be disappointed. They certainly inspire me.

And a quick (well kinda long) update on my photo a day.

We are about to get a new kitchen....yay.  I love cooking so I really look forward to all things New in there.

And I had to take a photo of my helper.  Don't you love the scruffy hair and cheesy smile?
I love visiting the kids rooms at night before I go to bed and giving them the last kiss of the day.  It makes me happy to know they are safe and well, tucked up for the night.  And especially when you see them cuddling a snuggly friend.  Even boys can snuggle something pink....
I hope I still receive gorgeous Mother's Day cards when they are 18.
Not the most exciting subject but I found this little patch when I took the dog for a walk at the school.
I think this shows the "love" we share.

This is a small selection of the "pile" of books I have waiting for me.

Thanks for stopping by.

Take care.

Happy Mother's Day

To all of you wonderful Mum's out there or Mum's to be or just beautiful Ladies.
I hope you have a fabulous Mother's day today.

My day has been fabulous so far.  I went for a run this morning and achieved my goal of running 10km. I was super excited.
We then had the boys football. Nice and wet and cold and unfortunately neither team won but the boys still played well.
Just finished lunch, having a cuppa, going to go and visit my Mum, then my MIL is coming over for dinner.
I received some awesome presents from the kids from the School Mother's Day Stall.  Lots of smelly stuff and lollies.

So to a scrappy share.
I played along with TCR this week.  I have been wanting to play with this paper (and have 2 more sheets because I loved it so much) and I think the bright colours work perfectly with it.
I used two photos and cut the top photo to layer on the bottom photo for a bit of dimension.

I will update my May photo a day next post.

See you soon.

May 123 Challenge

Good evening/morning

Just a quick share of my page I created for 1,2,3 Challenge this month which is:
WORD: ENJOY
COLOUR: ORANGE
TECHNIQUE: Using Bakers Twine

I created this page on retreat and it was a bit of a challenge because I wanted to scrap a photo of our Sponsor Child Nethra who lives in India and the girls and I were not sure that the word Enjoy really fit....but I did it....I used the word "Enjoy" in my journaling.
And while I am here, I will add another page I did on retreat (I wont bombard you with them all at once).

This page was for a sketch challenge created by Raquel Bowman who is also the proud owner of A Piece of Cake Designs who provide kits filled with fabulous goodies.

And just to bore you a little more, I will update you with my May Photo a Day.
I walk this dog of mass destruction every day....I think he is actually smiling at me in this photo....lol.

And I think "Love" says it all.

Have a great night/day.

Take care.

P.S.  DD's sling is off and her arm has healed. Yay.  She is now going 100 miles per hour catching up on what she missed out on for 3 weeks.

P.S.S.  A few of you asked about the paper in my last post.  It was a Glitz Design paper which looked like burlap/hessian and had a black script stamp on it. I then used a Crafters Workshop mask for the black splats and also bubble wrap and mist.

Charm's Creations Star Challenge

Just popping in to share a page I did at retreat using one of Charm's Creations stars to enter into her bi-monthly challenge for April/May.

It was so awesome to meet Charmane and to see her gorgeous embellishments all in one place.  I wanted one of everything but as I had spent my money on her Creatures for the kids, I had to hold back.

And did you see that circle of cork with the star and 9 on it?  Well where we were at retreat, there was a bar and as I was fixing myself a little drink....I spotted this container of corks.  Thinking they would be great to use as a stamp I collected a few and then decided to cut one up and used the piece as an embellishment. I will have to create a few more I think.

And an update on my Photo a Day for May

My girlfriend Kylie is someone who is pretty special.

Thanks for calling by. Off to the hospital for a final x-ray for DD.  Hoping they tell us her arm has mended and no more sling.
